Who We Are

IML is a hybrid actors agency combining both co-operative and personal management styles. The agency has been established for nearly 40 years and represents 35-40 actors, who work directly with the CA to manage the careers of its clients.

Our office is friendly and supportive. It's also diligent and hard-working.

The CA will represent talented actors who take a proactive approach to their careers. Our clients work in the office with the CA, covering all areas including submissions, finance, legal, talent-scouting, marketing, relationship building. As a consequence, the CA has the added bonus of getting to know their clients far better than a personal manager has the time to do.

The Role

This is an exciting, varied role and a great opportunity for someone ambitious, who is looking to forge a career as an agent. The CA provides general public relations, marketing and promotional services to IML, including:

  • Providing continuity by being the main point of contact for casting directors, employers and members

  • Enhancing the reputation of IML and its clients across the industry

  • Developing and maintaining productive relationships with IML's contacts

  • Negotiating and handling contracts between clients and employers

  • Providing guidance and advice to clients to improve their employability, providing career reviews and support

  • Apart from submitting clients for specific roles, the CA will have a duty of care to the client base; offering advice, career guidance, watching self-tapes and giving feedback

  • Promoting clients for suitable work and managing promotional campaigns where appropriate

  • Researching and identifying potential work opportunities for clients

  • Guidance on selection of potential new clients

  • Supporting and improving the day-to-day operation of the agency in a small, busy office

The CA will be given full training and support by the members. Within IML we have various teams to help support our clients and CA, including the CA Team. The CA will be positively encouraged to liaise directly with the CA Team for continuing support and guidance. The CA role will be subject to a three-month review in order to ensure maximum efficiency within IML.

  • Interest and knowledge of the Theatre/TV/Film/Commercials industry

Hours

The weeks vary depending on what our clients are working on, but approximately 35 - 40 hours/week is a reasonable guide, with time divided between the office and attending members’ shows, industry events, ad hoc phone contact and monthly agency meetings (on a Monday from 6pm). IML's office is open Mon - Fri 10 - 6, but as ours is an industry that often operates outside of conventional ‘office hours’, we’re open to suggestions from applicants as to what might work for you, around your other commitments.

IML is currently located at The Peabody Estate, Horseferry Road, Victoria SW1P 4EQ.

Fees

Fees (inclusive of VAT) are £12.50 p/h, to cover work undertaken at IML's office and events beneficial to IML, such as clients' shows and networking. This will be reviewed after a period of six months, with a view to increasing the rate, based on the CA’s progress.

An additional flat fee of £206 p/month to cover ad hoc work undertaken outside of office hours and/or when not present at IML's office.
